The CBRA received an unexpected e-mail from the Province of Manitoba yesterday. It seems that they have discovered that they actually do own the Aimes Road gravel parking lot and paddling launch. This is not surprising to the CBRA, as details like that matter to us. We have forwarded their letter to the appropriate City officials.
The City and the Province have both disavowed knowledge of the two full waste containers at the parking lot. They refuse to empty them now or in the future. A kind CBRA member has removed the remains of the homeless encampment, and the two containers that they were jammed into, to her residence. The CBRA will retain the removed containers until their true ownership can be ascertained. We apologize for any convenience. Please either take your doggie bags home or to the City waste receptacle located at the Creek Bend Bridge, which the City does empty.
The CBRA and SOS hope to meet with the City to discuss the Creek Bend Park concept early in the New Year. As the developers of 180 Creek Bend Road property to the north have asked for, and received, yet another 1-year time extension, confidence in a major Creek Bend Park announcement in 2026 is therefore low.
