10 Creek Bend Road

A few weeks ago, a load of fill, sod, concrete and dirt, was illegally dumped in the gravelled Creek Bend Park parking lot next to the Aimes Road Bridge. While this sort of midnight dumping is common at the boarded up 180 Creek Bend property to its north, this is a first for the park. If 180 Creek Bend is the future, this will not be the last such incident we see in the ungated parking lot.

A CBRA member volunteered to send an e-mail to the obscure provincial point of contact that we have to use. As we have told our membership before, this provincial property is part of the right-of-way for the Perimeter Highway. It is not a city or provincial park. It has no street address. It is not on the City tax roll and database. When we phone 311 we might as well be talking about a property on the Seine River in Lorette.

My proposal is that the City gives the unofficial park an honorary address. If we can give out honorary street names, why not give an honorary address to an honorary park.

When the time comes they can give it a real name and a real address, but until then, let’s at least give the orphaned park this.
