To the surprise of no one the Riel Community Committee recently authorized $6,000 from the Riel Land Dedication Reserve Fund to help purchase a replacement floor washer for the Norwood Community Centre. Once again, the Riel CC overruled city administrators and used the de facto slush fund to pay for a non-permitted use. Meanwhile, Qualico has not revealed yet whether there are any sensitive lands in danger of development in its Precinct K South property, river lands that the City has to either purchase (from its Land Dedication Reserve Funds) or lose forever.
